Unleavened Bread First in the East?

In celebration of the Feast of St. Thomas, some of us went to eat Indian food last night, and I couldn't help but wonder if St. Thomas used the traditional Indian bread nan in eucharistic celebrations. I'm going to venture to guess that he probably did. If so, the easternmost celebrations of the eucharist in the apostolic church used unleavened bread. They wouldn't have been able to use onion nan or potato nan, the simple, plain nan would have worked perfectly. Wine wouldn't have been a problem either, the Persians introduced it to India in around 1300 BC.
