I'm not gone... just busy...

Monday, June 02, 2003

So I'm home. Good to be back, with the exception of the heat. (It has been around 100 every day this week.)

My library recently expanded with some acquisitions from the library of an old priest. Some big finds. A 1789 BCP, well two of them actually, Massey Shepherd's Prayer Book Commentary, The Draft Proposed Book, Percy Dearmer's History of the Prayer Book and the English Church - in the first American Edition, Deansley's History of the Medieval Church - finally a hardcover, Moorman's History of the Church in England - again finally in hardcover, The Decrees of the Council of Trent, some Dom Gregory Dix, a nice copy of the Oxford Annotated RSV, the First and Second Prayer Books of Edward VI - a must have, among a few other things.

How am I going to read all this? I probably won't, but they'll be better off on my shelf than in a dumpster. I'll probably crack them open quite a bit, actually, as references.
